I usually never right reviews about companies but I had to on this one. My transmission needed to be repaired so I called around to several different locations and surprisingly AAMCO was the cheapest with the quickest turn around time. So at first I was super excited that my truck would be fixed in such a short time and back on the road for a reasonable price. Well I guess looking back at the experience I was fooled by some smooth talking liar! They quoted me a price of $2700.00 and a turn around time of 3 days. Well 12 days later when I finally went to get my truck, it still wasn't complete even after the owner Keith said it "would be completed after lunch." The total bill ended up being $4100.00 and after asking what changed his answer was the "hard parts" they cost more than we anticipated! So to try and make me feel better they graciously knocked $400.00 off the bill which probably shouldn't have been on there in the first place and I only ended up paying $900.00 more than I was quoted. Needless to say I will NEVER and I mean NEVER give this place my business again. It is one thing to be wrong about the turn around time but to be lied to several times during the process, really leaves a bad taste in my mouth. So if you are looking into getting your transmission work done here make sure they sign a document holding them to their quotes, because other wise you will be walking out of there with this same bad taste that I have!
Place is ran by a total nut job Tim Oneil and he drives customers cars to his other shop in Annapolis md and home In. White marsh md do not take your car there you will regret it I worked there for almost a year and was truly the worst shop if ever worked at I. My 12 years as a mechanic as it does not have power still to this day and they run off a generator the rent from sunbelt do yourself a favor stay far away from that aamco I. Bel air md
Came to have my car looked at for a loud rattling noise before taking a trip only to be told my catalytic converter was bad with my inspection due at the end of the month, estimate $1100. Take it to a family member mechanic to find that's just a broken clamp that was a $30 job. Totally disapointed in this place
I took my 94 Jeep in to have the clutch looked at. I heard there's a couple mechanics that understand Jeeps and such well at this location. They had the master cylinder part sent over in 10 minutes and repaired about an hour after. I got to meet most and. I noticed how they teamed up to figure the problem out. Everyone seemed very professional and friendly. The only reason I'm writing this review is because I've felt like I've had a black cloud over me with mechanics up to this point. Not anymore! I highly recommend this place.
Owner Keith is awesome. Takes care of my older BMW fairly and reasonably without selling me work it doesn't need unlike dealers and some others in Bel Air and Towson.. Honest man worth his weight in gold!
