Hopefully Hugo is a better doctor than he is a person for the sake of his patients, because he's a REALLY awful person!
Dr Benalcazar is did my SI joint fusion in Aug2013. After 23 years of being misdiagnosed, the very first time I went to him he knew right away what my problem was. I had 2 positive injections. Then the fusion! I am a nurse and I have worked with many doctors. Dr Hugo Benalcazar is one of the most caring, knowledgeable doctors o have ever met! He takes his time and makes sure you understand everything!!! He has the most amazing bedside manner. Within the next couple of weeks he will be doing a fusion on my neck, which symptoms I thought were carpal tunnel syndrome! I was wrong! I have not one fear, I trust him and cannot say enough good things about him! He in my opinion is truly amazing! I have referred severally people near and far to him!!!
Surgery only! Doesn't care what the patient concerns are. Was treated poorly and horrible bedside manners
ABSOLUTELY UNCOORDINATED AND UNKNOWLEDGEABLE STAFF! Called on a Monday for appointment and they were able to schedule me for Tues. Told them specifically what insurance I had and they said, "no problem." Showed up for the appointment, waited a half hour to be checked in; another 15 mins to fill out paperwork; sat another 10 minutes and then told "Oh sorry, we don't take Tricare through Johns Hopkins." REALLY?! Then why is he listed on the JH Tricare page as a provider?! Unfreakin believable. I was skeptical about other reviews about the office staff, but now I know what they meant.
