This review is actually for one of the other doctors at Advanced Eye Care, Dr. Sally Mina. My wife has been seeing Dr. Mina, and I went along last month for her visit since Dr. Mina was dilating my wife's eyes. I was in the exam room during part of her visit, and was very impressed with Dr. Mina's thoroughness. Since i hadn't had an eye exam in years I decided to see Dr. Mina too.
This was my first visit here and I typically get eye exams at the Walmart Optical in Fallston. The doctor was very friendly and knowledgeable but the contact prices here were the highest I have ever seen! They told me over $200 for only 4 boxes of contacts so even after my insurance covered $120 I still had to pay a lot out of pocket. The same contacts at Walmart were only $33 a box. In addition to their contact exam fee which was $60 and other office fees they charges I walked out paying over $200 with insurance! This is outrageous.
As before Dr. Mina was very thorough, and answered all my questions without making me feel rushed. She went into detail to make sure I understood the condition of my eyes, and always had a very friendly manner. I've had many other eye exams, but never one so thorough yet pleasant. I would definitely recommend Dr. Mina and all the staff at Advanced Eye Care to anyone seeking a thorough and highly competent eye professional. The office is very clean and bright, and the wait was not bad either. Definitely a 5 Star experience!
Everyone I interacted with-- via phone and in-person-- was kind. I got a reminder call a few days before the appointment, and then a reminder text a few hours before it, which is nice.
They assist you promptly and with great service. Thorough and detailed oriented. I always trust my ear health with them.
They seem to embrace new technologies: From SMS appointment reminders, to the online patient portal, to the tools used for examination. I'm typically anxious about all things medical, but this was nothing but a good experience, and I'm glad I went.
The office was clean and nicely furnished and decorated. I had to wait maybe twenty minutes past the appointment time, but Dr. Sober seemed skilled and was patient with my questioning, and the appointment itself was surprisingly quick; took my longer to pick out my frames afterwards.
I was pleased with the service I received at Advanced Eye Care. They were efficient and friendly. I have the hardest time finding a style of glasses that I like. Their certified optician picked out a couple pairs for me to choose from and I am still getting compliments on my selection. They made it easy,
