Also, every time I call if I don't get through I leave a message. I've always received a call back. They're a busy office. I've seen them tell everyone to leave a message so if you don't, that's your fault. Receptionists are sweet and kind as long as you're not yelling at them about not wanting to follow the office policies.
Also, if their waiting room is the size of a "walk-in closet" then that reviewer must live in a mansion because it's double the size of my bedroom and they never say the full name of a patient. You're asked to sign-in.
Pros. Its local. Theres never any wait. They are always on time or very close to it. Cons. If you just want someone to listen to you while they take your money, this is the place to go. They push appointments to make money even when you dont feel the need for them and wont continue refilling even the mildest of prescriptions without regular visits - even when youve been on the lowest dose steadily for approx a year already and have had postive results during that time. They claim its for 'safety reasons.' Plan on paying your copay every other month to sit on their couch for 3 mins and say Yep everythings fine, just to get approved a refill which is only good for 1-2 more months. Half the time they will ask you to pay your copay at check-in, the other half they will bill you and act like you avoided the payment during your next you call or office visit. If you call the day prior to cancel your appt, plan on still getting a bill or owing extra when you show up for your required next appt. Also, theres no privacy when you check in because the waiting room is the size of a walk-in closet. Staff up front never seems friendly or eager to assist, if anyone is even sitting there when you walk in.
All office policies are explained at your first visit. If you don't want to follow the policies, don't become a patient - seems very easy. I've seen the receptionists explain to every new patient the policies IN DEPTH. If you're looking for doctors who aren't going to care about your mental health at all then DON'T go to Bay Counseling Center. Far too often, psychiatrists prescribe then don't care when months down the line you start experiencing side effects just because they want to give you a years worth of medication and send you on your way. If you don't want quality and consistent follow-up care - don't come to Bay Counseling and go somewhere else that will fit more of what you want. Basing bad reviews on individuals who don't want to follow office policies they agreed to is ridiculous. When you're an entitled brat you don't deserve a good doctor, facts.
They are very rude to clients and very arrogant. Yet they don't listen to what you have to say. The receptionist is very rude. If you have any other options, don't go to Bay counseling!
I have a ten dollar balance for requesting a refill, which I've been trying to call and pay for the past month - received no answer each time and I have to work during business hours. Haven't been able to inquire about billing or scheduling (since I got changes made to my bank account). I just want a phone call answered at 9 to 11 am so I can pay and schedule, please...
Most unprofessional and uncaring doctor and staff I have ever encountered in all my long years. PLEASE take my advice and find another doctor who will actually care about you, treat you with respect and professionally address your medical needs.
