During this call I heard the owner yell at his employees in the most derogatory manner. Not only was it unprofessional but it was something that set me over the edge for picking their competitor. He took shots at me and my husband for finding a better price--which THEY offered to match. In the end I was told by the employee that they would not play this back and forth game... Unbelievable.
I had first heard about George's through a family friend who said they had a nice selection of hardwood floors. Upon our arrival we were greeted by an employee who was really nice. When we told him we were just looking around for the time being, he seemed to understand our need for space. Then all a sudden this burly-looking man comes up the stairs (who we know now is the owner) and we over hear him push his employee to talk to us more. Now don't get me wrong, I understand how sales work and that a sales person needs a push every once and awhile but what this owner did was beyond ridiculous. He made us listen to the employees 25 minute memorized spiel about their promises to you/etc while he stood staring at us behind a display (he thought we couldn't see him) playing with his cigarettes. This was absolutely not necessary, but again, we understand sometimes this is the process.

At any rate, we were happy to find a few hardwood floor samples we liked and and even more happy that they would price match + for any better offer we could find. We decided we would keep this place in mind and see if we could find a vendor who was less--afterall it is a consumer's market. Well we were thrilled when we found the same product at not one but TWO places at a lower cost. I called our rep who said they would be happy to match the price. I then called their competitor to let them know I was going another way and was told they would price match that price + 10% off. I was beyond thrilled. I decided to call George's back to let them know unless they could offer me a better price, I would be inclined to go with their competitor. Boy, did I open a door I wish I hadn't.
Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else...Our experience here started out good and turned out terrible!
Very unhappy with customer service!
My wife and I relocated to BelAir for work (BRAC). We didnt really know anyone here so we did a Google search for carpet stores in BelAir and found these guys. We went there as well as the Big Boxes. There was no comparing the level of service and attention to detail these guys offered us. We put hardwood throughout our first floor and carpet in the upstairs and basement. They also re-tiled our master bath floor including the tub and shower surrounds. The sales guy helped us do everything from picking colors and designing the most amazing tile patterns to visitng us during and after the installation. We had one issue with a piece of moulding that didnt seem to be cut right. I called the next day not only does someone actually answer the phone when you call this place (no computer secretary!) they went ahead and set up a service call for my next day off work and fixed it. We spent quite a lot with these guys on getting this house just the way we wanted it and we would not hesitate to reccomend George's to our friends and family. They were very professional, knowledgeable and went out of their way to make us feel welcomed. The salesman even gave us tips on local restaraunts and parks for our kids!
High quality, great prices and professional friendly staff. So nice to be helped by professionals who know their craft. I also appreciate local small businesses.
do not go here. man i meet was loud and rude. i heard him cussing at the other employees before i asked for help. he was very pushy and he was disrespectful to me and my girl.
we will definitely be back when we do the other bathrooms and sunroom.
